Consortium
The NANOGENTOOLS consortium provides an optimal balance between academic institutions (Universidad de Burgos, University of Birmingham, UBU, Università del Piemonte Orientale -Vercelli Novara Alessandria, and BioNanoNet Forschungsgesellschaft mbH) and non-academic organisations (NTHINX, SITEX 45 SRL, NovaMechanics Ltd and NIA), located in eight EU countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Romania, Spain and United Kingdom, all important stakeholders in nanosafety technologies in their respective territories with significant experience. The WP Leaders have wide experience in the field they are responsible for, and have already established long-lasting and active cooperation links with SME associations, regulation authorities, market-oriented research units, etc. The individual experience of the partners is reinforced by the presence of the Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA) and participation in international committees.
NANOGENTOOLS answers the challenge of Nanomaterials safety by joining industry and academia to create a collaborative excellence-based knowledge exchange network that will:
- Push forward knowledge via method development and pre-validation.
- Train scientists in new methodologies to assess long term nanosafety.
- Support their inclusion in standardization and present and future EU regulations.
