Important notice: CIT 2021 in virtual/hybrid mode

Given the current situation regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, and in order to avoid uncertainty for attendees and sponsors, the Management Board of the Transport Engineering Forum and the Organizing Committee of the XIV Conference on Transport Engineering (CIT 2021) have decided that the development of the Conference will be virtual, or hybrid if conditions allow it. The dates of celebration remain intact: from July 6 to 8, 2021.

Two new virtual registration modalities with reduced rates have been incorporated: for speakers / attendees and for research personnel in training. At this time, these modalities are the only ones that will be enabled on the registration platform.

However, if the situation allows it, we will try that the development of the Congress can take place in a hybrid mode. In this case, people would be enabled to adapt their registration, and to pay the difference in fees, in order to attend the Conference in person and enjoy the restoration services and the material and documentation.

The awards for young researchers, the publication of the papers in the Proceedings book and a selection of them in Transportation Research Procedia remain unchanged.

We sincerely thank all the attendees, partners and sponsors for their confidence, and hoping that this new stage in CIT 2021 will be successful and with high a level of quality.

14th Conference on Transport Engineering

The 14th Conference on Transport Engineering (CIT 2021) will be held from Burgos (Spain) from 6th to 8th of July 2021. The venue of the Conference will be the Higher Polytechnic School of the University of Burgos.

The slogan of the CIT 2021 is: “R-Evolution of Transport”.
This theme arises that the current situation of transport, with costs and externalities (congestion, emissions, fuel consumption, road accidents, etc.) increasingly higher, need a change to return to the sustainable path. Therefore, we can ask ourselves if we need to evolve the traditional modes of transport or, on the contrary, what is needed is a revolution, involving a really significant change in the current trend.

As in previous editions, the CIT 2021 seeks to promote national and international exchange of scientific and professional works in different areas of transport, in search of solutions that allow us to follow this “R-evolution of transport”. A selection of papers will be published in a special issue of the journal Transportation Research Procedia, by the international publisher Elsevier.

CIT is promoted by the Transport Engineering Forum (FIT), a non-profit academic organization, whose aim is to promote and organize the conference, as well as to ensure its quality and orientation.

The Forum of transport engineering (FIT) was constituted in the year 2000, as a non-profit association, aiming to convene and develop the Conference on Transport Engineering, as well as promoting activities related to any of the Transport Engineering areas, both at national and international level. In particular, training, research, technology transfer and the dissemination of the transport engineering. Furthermore, the Transport Engineering Forum (FIT) gives the opportunity to win the Rafael Izquierdo Prize to those who have presented a doctoral thesis, and organises the FIT Scientific Campus, this year hold virtually as CAMPUS FIT 2020 Conference.
