Biography
Claire Skentelbery completed a PhD in biochemistry before moving into scientific marketing and communication, and acted as the
National Contact Point for Framework Programme 5, before becoming an independent consultant in biotechnology development.
While in the UK, she split her time between supporting the development of the Cambridge cluster through her role in ERBI, the
regional biotech network (now One Nucleus) and freelance proposal writing. Along with a group of clusters across Europe, she
helped to create the Council of European BioRegions, which which is now an independent non-profit organisation in Belgium.
Claire is the Network Manager for CEBR asbl, and also the Secretary General of the European Biotechnology Network, a scientific
network with the mission to build partnerships.
These networks allow her to pursue an overall mission to remove geographical, political and other barriers to scientific exploitation.
