HOW TO ARRIVE AT BURGOS

  • BY PLANE
  • Burgos has a very small airport with some (non-dayly) connections to Barcelona and Mallorca. Please check the flight schedules at www.iberia.es. Burgos airport is connected with the city center by public bus and taxi. The most convenient option is to arrive at Madrid Barajas airport and, from there, to take either a bus or train to Burgos (see below). Other airports nearby are Valladolid, Bilbao and Santander.

  • BY BUS
  • The Alsa bus company has frequent bus connections to Burgos. In Madrid, the Alsa bus station is located in the transportation node "Avenida America". In Burgos, the bus station is located in the city center, less than ten minutes away (by walking) from the Almirante Bonifaz Hotel. The bus trip Madrid-Burgos takes around 2h 40m. To arrive from Madrid Barajas airport to Madrid bus station (Avenida America) there are two inexpensive options: the public bus number 200 (the best option, each 20 min) and the metro (take line 8 until Mar de Cristal station, and there take line 4 until Avenida de America). Taxi is faster (around 15 min), but more expensive (minimum 20 euro).

  • BY TRAIN
  • From Madrid Chamartin station there are around five dayly train connections to Burgos. From Barcelona Sants station there are three dayly trains to Burgos. To check the schedule and duration of each train please visit the RENFE web page . To arrive from Barajas airport to the Madrid train station (Chamartin) there is a direct train from Barajas T4 terminal. You can also take the underground (line 8 until Nuevos Ministerios station, and there take line 10 until Chamartin station) or, again, a taxi. Finally, from the train station in Burgos you have to take either a bus or a taxi in order to arrive at the city center. In case there were no taxi available, phone +34 947 277777 (taxi service).
